#About CCHEC
(CCHEC) was established in 2014, driven by a shared vision of creating lasting change in communities. We are dedicated to empowering communities through inclusive, evidence-based interventions in health, environment, and research, with a heart for humanitarian and livelihood support.
In 2014, a group of passionate public health professionals came together, driven by a shared vision of creating lasting change in their community. Out of this commitment, the Centre for Community Health and Environmental Change (CCHEC) was born—originally established as a Community-Based Organization (CBO) in Magarini, Kilifi County. Two years later, in 2016, CCHEC was officially registered, marking the beginning of a more structured and impactful journey.
The organization’s earliest efforts were deeply humanitarian. Recognizing the unmet needs among the elderly and destitute, CCHEC began by distributing clothes, shoes, and food to the most vulnerable in different parts of Magarini. These simple yet profound acts of kindness built trust within the community and laid the groundwork for broader engagement.
